GDIL was acquired by ZR2 Group Holdings Ltd., UAE during FY24- 25 to expand into the bioenergy sector. As part of India’s Net Zero journey, GDIL is focusing on producing biofuels like ethanol and biogas, aligned with government policies, while also generating carbon credits. This move aims to reduce carbon emissions and positively impact the climate.

GDIL is transforming the farm-to-fuel economy by converting renewable energy into high-quality food protein and clean biofuels. It turns crops and waste into low-carbon biofuels, integrating farming, waste management, and solar energy to produce Green Hydrogen, Ethanol, Bio-Diesel, Bio-Gasoline, and Sustainable Aviation Fuel. By using advanced global technologies, GDIL reduces emissions and drives sustainable progress. With its Negative Net Zero model, GDIL biofuels remove more pollution than they generate. Its circular bioenergy approach works with nature to protect the planet and ensure a sustainable future.

Founded in 1911 as a proprietary concern, GDIL later became Sardesai Brothers Private Limited in 1939, transitioned to a public limited company in 1961 as Sardesai Brothers Limited, and adopted its current name, Gujchem Distillers India Limited, in 1974.
